Choplets: Vegetarian and Grain Protein Patties

NOTE: Choplets are now packaged in a 13oz can as shown below. There are 4 choplets per can.

Loma Linda Choplets are a great tasting low-fat alternative to pork chops. This meat substitute is 100% meat free and made from vegetable and grain protein. The patties are in a savory broth and have a similar taste and texture to pork chops.

How to Prepare Choplets

Great along side rice or mac n cheese. Simply brown and serve. Great alternative to meat patties. Choplets can also be dipped in your breading of choice and then heated or lightly fried.

We've been eating Choplets since I was a child and I'm 52 now. This can is half the size of the cans we used to buy, but relatively the same price. Next, while Choplets have always been rubbery in texture, this can of Choplets took it to the next level. We may have had better luck trying to cut and chew the rubber off my car tires. My knife (new!) could not saw through the Choplet! We struggled to cut pieces to eat with both knives and forks. These Choplets were lightly fried in oil and seasoned flour. But the cooking process did not make them impossible to cut. Using a fork to remove them from the can itself was difficult as the fork tines could barely pierce the skin of the Choplets as they were TOO HARD AND RUBBERY.

NOTE: This has nothing to do with Vegefood. Worthington/Loma Linda has changed hands and production materials in recent years and the quality of their foods has changed drastically and not in a good way. So beware.
